The SRAM XX Eagle T-Type Direct Mount Chainring sits at the pinnacle of SRAM's 12-speed Eagle mountain drivetrain — the top-tier choice for riders running the full T-Type Transmission system. Machined from lightweight aluminium with a distinctive dual-spoke profile, it bolts directly onto SRAM Transmission cranks via an 8-bolt interface, eliminating the spider entirely for a cleaner, stiffer power transfer path. The 3mm Boost offset positions the chain perfectly for both standard 135/142mm and Boost 141/148mm rear axle spacing, and every ring ships with the mounting hardware included.
The T-Type Transmission system is SRAM's fully integrated approach to 1x shifting — the chainring, chain, cassette, derailleur, and crankset all engineered together for chain retention and shifting performance that conventional drivetrains can't match. Upgrading the chainring alone (for example, moving to a larger or smaller tooth count to adjust gearing) is straightforward as long as you stay within the T-Type ecosystem: XX chainring requires a T-Type chain. Standard Eagle chains are not compatible and will cause shifting issues and premature wear.
T-Type compatibility — important. This chainring is engineered exclusively for SRAM T-Type (Transmission) drivetrains. It requires a T-Type chain (XX, X0, or GX T-Type) and mounts only to SRAM 8-bolt Direct Mount Transmission cranks. It is not compatible with traditional Eagle cranks, non-SRAM cranks, or standard Eagle chains. If you are unsure whether your crankset has the 8-bolt T-Type interface, check the crank arm — it will be marked "T-Type" or "Transmission".
