Toray T700, M40 + T1100 Tri-Modulus Carbon

Winspace specifies three Toray carbon grades in the Gryper 2 rim layup. T700 provides high tensile strength for impact resilience. M40 adds intermediate-modulus stiffness — responsive without brittleness. T1100 is Toray's flagship ultra-high modulus grade, delivering maximum stiffness-to-weight. The result is a more sophisticated tri-modulus construction than single or dual-modulus designs, with a finished weight of 648g front and 766g rear.

T-Head Spokes — 21F / 21R, 2:1 Lacing Both Ends

The Gryper 2 uses T-head spokes on both wheels — a design where the spoke head locks into a T-slot in the hub flange, eliminating the pull-through risk of traditional J-bend or straight-pull systems. 21 spokes front and rear, both laced 2:1 (two drive-side spokes for every one non-drive), equalises tension across the hub and delivers a stiffer, more durable wheel under repeated load.

36-Tooth Ratchet Hub System

The 36-tooth ratchet engagement hub delivers instant, positive power transfer with a minimal dead angle of just 10 degrees. Compared to standard pawl-based hubs, ratchet-style engagement is more durable under repeated load cycles and has a sharper, more mechanical feel that gravel racers prefer for technical terrain and sprint finishes.

32mm Internal — 38mm External Width

At 38mm external width the Gryper 2 rim is wider than the previous Gryper's 34mm, for superior aerodynamic tyre transition and reduced turbulence at the tyre-rim junction. The 32mm internal cavity is built for the full gravel tyre range — from 44mm race slicks at low pressure to 70mm adventure knobblies — with a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi.

Tubeless Ready — 44–70mm Tyre Range

Engineered for the full range of gravel tyre choice — from fast 44mm race slicks at 30–40psi through to 70mm adventure knobblies at single-digit trail pressures. Tubeless-compatible rim bed supports lower running pressures without pinch-flat risk. The wide 32mm internal cavity maintains correct tyre profile at both ends of the range. Maximum tyre pressure 60psi.

Available with Shimano HG 11/12-speed, SRAM XDR 12-speed, Shimano Microspline 12-speed, and Campagnolo 10/11/12-speed freehub configurations — covering every major drivetrain standard in gravel racing. Centre-lock disc brake mount throughout.
